Story
It all started with an oyster...
We are Shallotte's newest Seafood restaurant, specializing in Southern Carolina cuisine. Our family’s history in the seafood business goes back to the late 1700's. Our grandfather, Moses Milliken, was born in 1793 in Brunswick County, North Carolina – he was the first to make a living fishing and gathering oysters to feed his family from the sea. Our grandfather AL Milliken started the first oyster shucking house in Brunswick County. And our father, Lloyd Milliken opened Lloyd's Oyster House back in the 60's in Shallotte, NC and runs it to this day. The history of the Milliken family in the seafood business in North Carolina spans for centuries. We take pride in locally sourcing all of our products, and offering only the highest quality seafood and more.
